Here’s one for the “Blogging Boo-Boo Hall of Fame”: I wrote a blogpost earlier this week on how to get started in social media, a Guide For Beginners, and posted it on….<drumroll>…Twitter?! Not too many people read it. Gee, now there’s a surprise…
OK, it doesn’t take a marketing genius to know that anyone on twitter has already figured out the basics. The post I wrote only made sense for the other 93%. DOH!
Feel free to learn from my mistakes. Don’t shortcut the OBVIOUS step of knowing your blog’s target audience, and also promoting it in the appropriate channel!
P.S. I gave that old post a sexy new name…Become a Social Marketing Diva in 30 Days!…and will retweet the original post in a few days. It will be interesting to see if “re-branding” creates a different result. Stay tuned.
